Those of you in the US probably already know about this, but I just found out about it now.

"Kramer" from Seinfeld, Micheal Richards, went apeshit on stage recently and started going off with these really racist remarks... it's terrible.

It's not like it was one badly timed joke, or a slip of the tongue. He keeps going ON AND ON.

He made an apology on Letterman.

I still don't buy his apology. There is no excuse for that shit.

If you are interested, watch these now, I have a feeling they'll be taken down soon... well the Letterman one at least.

he's a jackass. i don't see how he can do or say anything to recover whatever scrap of a career he still had.

rummors are starting that he's attacked jews in the audience in a similar way a few years ago. his rep said it's part of his act.

we talked about it in english class since we're studying a Satire unit. Somebody brought it up, so yeah, its kinda shame that he did that. Most Americans now-a-days know better than not to do that.

I buy his apology, only because he really did look completely floored in the interview. He was completely uncomposed and dazed there, and I believe he really is stunned by his own behaviour. That's no excuse, and I seriously think he needs to seek counseling, but I suppose it's a start.

And yeah, I have to agree with what someone else posted... his career is done. What little he had of one. -.- (And selfishly, it annoys me that I'll never look at Kramer the same way now.)

What the hell was up with that apology? he was like "It wasn't me...it was...the war in iraq!" and then he was all "black people should rally together because of racism like this!"....that HE perpetrated. What a knob.

Then people should not allow Black comedians to use slurs against the whites. Why is it that everytime a white person gets up and says one word about Blacks everyone has to go crazy over it?

But nothing gets said against Bill Cosby, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor or any other Black comedian who goes off on the Whites.

I have no problem with Michael Richards. Personally I have a problem with Black people getting all bent out of shape over it. They use words like that with each other and it doesn't make headlines.

I am sick of how overly sensitive everyone has to get over a stupid word.

I dunno, I'm not completely disgusted. I don't condone his actions, or anything, but do you think there would've been as much backlash if he had been making ethnic comments about... say, Irish, or Scottish, or Dutch people? I doubt it. Racism isn't exclusive to black people.
