Feb. 27th, 2006 01:43 amCompletely randomly, I read a post in
pervyoldladyhp by a girl who is working as an assistant English teacher in Japan. I asked about her job, and she said she's doing the JET program, and that she likes it. I read through the site, and it looks like I'd be qualified for it.

If I did it, I'd probably apply in 2007 for placement in 2008. I'm seriously thinking about doing this. I'd have time to learn some Japanese before going. Proving I'm interested in learning about the culture would be no problem... one of my degrees is in sociology. Dr. Danaher, Dr. Dickinson, or my boss at MUSC, Alyssa, would all be willing to write letters for me, I bet. So... why the hell not?
I know it sounds completely crazy, but that's how I've done most things in my life. Deciding to move to NY, deciding to move to England... and now, deciding to move to Japan. :D How amazing would it be if I got accepted???
So yeah. I'm seriously thinking about it. Thoughts?
